View Full Version : DivX-s vs. GKnot

Hello mates!

I have a problem with the newest DivX-es in GKnot converting. That means, that the last DivX, I can use perfectly, is the DivX 5.1. If I try to use 5.2, or plasma, or fusion, some kind of troubles appear. In DivX 5.2, my GKnot freezes, when I want to put the datas (the settings). I click on the button first pass or second pass to set up them, but nothing happens, only the freeze. It is not so in DivX 5.1, there is not such kind of problem. In the two latest i mentioned, that is no problem, but i have another. Like if the GKnot couldn't controll them; it doesn't correct the new bitrate, after converting the sound, or the tracklist (credits). The number is the god, what I type in the settings, and it doesn't correct it (not because the re-counting is not enabled; it is). One more time back to 5.1: after I set the values for the film, it is natural, that after converting the sound, and the credits, the bitrate has to rise, and so happens with this. Why not with the new DivX-es?
Thank you for your answer,

Shorlex

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

You don't mention your GK release. The current release is 0.35. You should move to it if you're not using it already.

You may want to clear the registry of any GK entries, and remove and re-install GK anyway. There's a "Delete Registry Keys" button on the Options tab. Use it, then uninstall GK (if its so old it doesn't have an uninstall, just delete the whole GK folder structure under C:\Program Files), and install 0.35.

Thanks for your idea. Never mind, I'm a stupid man, I didn't mention that i use the latest 0.35. BUT it's sure, that I have not tried the new DivX-es with 0.35, because of the many "disasters" in the pass. Last time I tried the DivX 5.2 was with 0.33. GKnot. I don't know, whether the renewal of the GKnot solves the issue, and after deleting the registries, anything is going to be better. I hope that the new 0.35 can coordinate the DivX bitrates, and it can modify the values if necessary.
