I just looked and the there is virtually no traffic on the server. I tried several downloads and they work fine now.

Yes... that is a fact. The woes of asymmetric connectivity. The next version will have a registration wizard. That way I can just make it available on a high speed link and send out registration keys. Hopefully that will make things easier. It will only make a small burst to the registration server when it sets up the first time.

Perhaps I misunderstood your post, but I'm worried because I just donated to get the pro version and my encoding computer does not have an internet connection. I'm sure others have similar setups where they have dedicated video machines with no net connection. Could you also provide a means to get DVD-RB Pro for users in this scenario? I was not aware of this new distribution method when I donated.

No problem. It will also be available via standard download as it is now. Anyway, it wouldn't need an internet connection to run after it has been registered. I'd never write phone-home software.

I switched to Apache web server a couple of weeks ago because MS IIS was doing this, now it's doing it with Apache too. I've fixed it (by stopping/restarting the service).

I suggest you that send the file attached to one E-mail.
You send the email once to the SMPT server. The SMTP server send the mail to all adresses. Is a fast mode of distribuite the file if you have a bandwide limitation.
The only trouble is that the one email have the "To adresses" list, and the receiver can see it.
Grettings.

Damn! Just had to reboot my server...
@Carpo
I wish that were the problem... but frankly, there aren't enough donators to put any kind of meaningful load on a web server... :( I've got some kind of problem that I can't put my finger on... maybe I'll swap out the network card to see what happens.

I think that us donators should try to donate more that only once, personnally that's what I'll try to do time to time.
:(
this might be a post that gets flamed but i'll say it anyway
seeing as there are lots of ppl now using this - maybe its time u sent it in the direction of shareware /me ducks
as yo have said on many posts you have spent a lot of time and effort on this and are seeing very little back - i have donated twice now and i do use this prog a lot and it saves me a hell of a lot of time - were as if i didnt have it i would have to go thru cce which used to be a pain

Sorry I really didn't mean to sound like I was whining. I was just trying to point out that even though my circuit is only 768K outgoing, I don't think that is where the problem is. When it bogs down like what happened last night I can bring up the Task Manager and the server is only using a small poriton of that speed... I reboot or stop/restart the process and all it jumps up to full speed. I'm no web administrator so I can only guess at what's causing it. When it happens I even get delayed when trying to connect to it from another computer on the same network (at 100Mbs).
As for the product, I'll wait and see what happens when version 1.00 gets released. I think there may be a lot of people who'd rather steer clear of beta software.
My real goal is making the highest quality backups possible -- for me and everyone else.
if you install slackware linux on the other pc i have a nice little installer for web you could use all latest versions apache 2 php 4.3.11 mysql 4.1

Server problems again if you haven't noticed already.

Keep trying. The problem is that there are a couple of IP addresses who are attempting to download it over-and-over-and-over, even though the previous delivery was successful. I may have to block them.
If it fails, try again later.
