Hey guys, I've been searching around on google for my problem and here and I have not found anything on what my problem is. I did follow the AVI-to-DVD guide to a key, but when I get to the part where I use TMPG and use my audio file with my video file I get an error saying "Illegal floating decimal point calculation order." and I don't know how to fix that. I read somewhere that the video file has to have no sound with it when I put it in TMPG. (the video still has its sound, and I wouldn't know how to cut the sound out from it.) That's why I'm getting the error, because of the two sound files mixing, from what I've read.

So instead of using TMPG I tried to use Nero. Nero worked GREAT, but there was no sound... If someone can help me with either one it will be most helpfull.

hi and welcome to the forum,

removing the audio stream from your avi is actually fairly simple and only takes a couple of minutes!

just open the avi in virtualdubmod, go to Streams > Stream List and you should see at least one entry in the opening box. it should tell you some details about the nature of your audio stream, which in this case are of no relevance to your problem.

now just select all the streams in there, and remove them by hitting the 'delete' button! afterwards you can close the stream list and get back to the main program. in the video tab check 'direct stream copy' and then all you have to do is save the avi (preferablly under a different name). this should only take a couple of minutes and afterwards all traces of your audio should be removed from the avi

Ok, the sound info you gave me worked, thanks a ton. But I'm still having that stupid "Illegal floating decimal point calculation order." with TMPG so I'm going to scrap it. Now I'm using CCE and I have a question on that. Do I need to use my video file with no sound and combine it with my sound only file, or just use my avi file that has both? Also, last but not least, after I encode it how should I go about burning it to my dvd? Should I use Nero again, or do you recommend something else?
