I've heard there's a trick to speeding up two pass encoding with avisynth that involves keeping the 1st pass (using full quality ticked).
There's just a couple settings that I'm not so sure about.
1) Once I've done the first pass, am I using the resultant .avi file to encode the 2nd pass? So I'm specifying the .avi as the source for the second pass, correct?
1) What should the max/min quantizer setting be for the 1st pass? I understand the 1st pass is done at a fixed q=2, so if I'm using the resultant .avi file to encode the 2nd pass from, then isn't this not a full quality first pass given it's used a quant of 2?..
I've probably got this all wrong...
I've done a search of the forums but no one seems to have done a good guide for this. If anyone knows a link, please paste (or explain!)
