Hello!
Could you please clarify, how we may use DVDDecrypter to rip whole DVD, not parts by parts?
I use v3.5.4 and IFO mode (only this mode supported by AutoGK). I try to rip "Dr.Been" DVD and see several large PGC under different VTS_0x. Unfortunately I can't rip all PGC together...
What should I perform by DVDDecrypter to produce only one AVI file which will contain all movie's parts?
It seems some time ago, we had ability to copy all DVD content and use AutoGK to produce single AVI...Can we easily perform the same today?

Thank you!
Best wishes,
Sergey

It looks like you're in File Mode, not IFO. What you have listed is what I would see had I ripped all files in File mode, whereas if you'd ripped only the main movie you'd see three or four files: the .vob(s), a .txt file and an .ifo file

Yes, it's files' list from DVD (unprotected disk). If I use file mode, I grab whole moview, but AutoGK can't open such rip.
As far as I understand, we are limited to IFO mode. But, in this case, DVDDecrypter can't grad whole movie...

Unless there's something different with the newer release of DVD Decrypter, there's only one other problem I can think of: the file splitting is set wrong. Click Tools, then Settings... click the IFO Mode tab and make sure file splitting is set to 4 GB. On the right, make sure Stream Information is checked, and at the bottom Include PGC and Angle Number are both checked.

Thank you, I will try this...
In this case we will have ability to rip whole DVD? I don't like to use any splitting, I just need to rip everything into single AVI

You keep saying "rip whole DVD" - are you trying to include everything on the DVD, including extras and menus, into the avi? If this is what you're after, it will not work with certain DVD's. You will have parts like the title credits in different languages, switching between them about once a second. Also the aspect of titles, extras and movies will often be different. You're bound to be dissatisfied with the results.

Thank you! I see, you are right...
But for certain DVDs (e.g. Mr Bean), we may see different 20-min parts in several PGC. And, unfortunately, DVDDecrypter can't be used to rip several PGCs into single structure (to make single AVI by AutoGK)
Probably it's just problem of certain DVDs?

Is the hard drive you're using formatted to NTFS? If so, double-check the IFO setting I mentioned and set it to "None." This will make the entire movie one large file. You didn't answer whether you were trying to do just the movie or the entire DVD complete with menus and extras. If the latter is what you're after, I have a possible solution, but again it will require an NTFS hard drive.

Also, it's not really necessary to "quote" an entire reply if it's right above yours - you can click the "Post Reply" button that's immediately below the Quote button instead. It just makes for a lot less scrolling to read.

Thanks! I need to rip whole movie without menu and extras. I have NTFS disk...
PS You mean set None in Splitting under IFO?

Exactly. and once you set that you will then have one large .vob file.

It's more complicated to use, but I highly recommend Gordian Knot over AutoGK for quality reasons.

I fail to understand some things here
a) Why do you want to have a single VOB
b) You seem to think that you need one VOB to make one avi ? Did I get that right? because you don't, you can have 99 vobs and you still will get one avi in the end

It appears to me that s2001 simply used File mode instead of IFO mode. If so, it is time to review the tutorial packaged with AGK.

Thanks for answers!
I use IFO mode according to AutoGK manual, but, unfortunately, several DVDs have their big parts under several PGCs (in DVDDecrypter interface). And DVDDecrypter does not allow us to select several PGCs simultaneously.
In this case we may rip several PGCs separately and make several AVIs by AutoGK. I really need to join all movie parts into one structure (files' set) and make single AVI by AutoGK...

I tried to rip all the PGC into different dirs once, and then just copy them into one folder and rename them, so they it would seem like they were from one and same PGC (They all had the same res/AR). DGIndex processed all the files like I wanted it to, BUT the "stream information.txt" only contains info from the first PGC. The problem is that the sync delay for audio described in the .txt file is only valid for the first PGC (first few .VOBs). This means that the audio delay will accumulate for the rest of the movie, because AutoGK doesn't know that I tricked with the naming of files.

The movie I ripped contained three main features and 4-5 bonus clips.
The first feature was okay, but the further out in the movie you go, you will experience audio sync problems.

I think the best way to do it would be to encode them seperatly and then join them later, but I haven't tried it.

Oh, an "episode" DVD. Unfortunately you can't merely concatenate VOB sets from multiple PGCs in DGIndex (used by AGK), the soundtracks and subtitles won't be in sync between PGCs.

You can either keep each PGC as separate encodes, or, correctly concatenate the VOBS.

To concatenate, you can use VobEdit. It has a "Join Clip" function to do this, and will match soundtracks and subtitle tracks along with the video. It takes a lot of disk space, but works much more easily than any brute force method I've used to keep sound and video synced.

Thanks, jggimi. VobEdit seems like the best solution for this. It's so nice to have the main features and then the extras following in one .avi :)

I was trying to splice together some vob files like this and was having some dificulty in making it happen. I found this site describing how this is done in case anyone has the same problems I did.

Instead of Mod of Misinformation I think you should call yourself God of Information. :) I don't think there is anything you don't know how to do.
