Hy. I guess everybody knows that the DVD player softwares got an plugin that converst a 2 channel sound into a 5.1 (of course not a true one), a plugin named Dolby Pro Logic II. I use Power DVD Deluxe for viewing DVDs and I've tried to listen some mp3's to see how the DPL II decoder works and i loved it. Now, ever since then I've tried to find a suitable plugin or a similar Dolby Pro Logic II plugin for winamp because of the easy way of winamp to manevrate the mp3s. Does anyone knows of any plugin DPL II for Winamp? or at least can anyone tell me how can I take that Power DVD plugin and try to implement it in Winamp (cause just copying it into the plugin directory of Winamp didn't helped me at all :) ).
I don't believe in a milion years that there is no posibility to hear an 2 channel sound converted in a 5.1 channel sound through with a plugin that can be made just for Winamp. As long as one software can do it, there must at least be another one that can, because let's face it, even Windows Media Player can do it but.. why not Winamp? which is the most used player for mp3's.

PS: I've tried all the "surround" plugins ever made for winamp, including those ones from www.winamp.com and none of them worked; I know how to configure my sound card so don't tell me to go to control panel and do some stuff over there. Tried everything.

All I want is a Dolby Pro Logic II decoder plugin for Winamp. As simple as that. Thanks!

AFAIK the dpl2 algo is not free, so you might be out of luck

the powerdvd filters can be used in directshow graphs (for exmaple with media player classic or other directshow players)
