Hi!

Is there a method to run dvd-rb in to click mode?
I use rb-opt after the prepare phase. After that how can I make rebuilder to do the encoding and rebuilding without human ineraction? This way i could activate the automatic shutdown after the rebuiding phase and leave the computer "alone".
Sorry, if it has been discussed before, but my seach didn't gave me results.

I can see how this would be useful even for those who are just using DVD-RB's own features. Specifically, the new blanking feature can only be used after the prepare phase. It would be nice to be able to tell Rebuilder to 'do all remaining steps' or something like that.

Thanks very much! I'll be setting up a post office box tomorrow. The address will be in the REBUILDER.TXT file and also will be listed on the web site.

Thanks!

What about the suggested "Two click mode" ?

I would love that mode. Just one click to prepare. Have the possibility e.g. to optimize ecl. And then only one click for Encode/Rebuild.

Missed that before.

Would be a nice feature for the pro-version.

I talked to jdobbs about that before and I think that on the todo list... meanwhile you can use this tip:

Run prepare phase and save your project.

Use Batch process and check the option "Skip PREPARE Phase in Batch" - Under Menu File.

This way Rebuilder will Encode and Rebuild and even shutdown the computer if you select the Option "Shutdown at Batch Completion" - Under Menu File.

Exactly. I didn't think this was even a "work around". It's so straightforward I assumed that this WAS the new 2 click mode. I don't see the need to implement a special command.

@JohnG
For me it will stay unimaginable what makes you think this procedure to be straightforward. Impossible for me to understand what a "Encode+Rebuild" button makes it called "special command" instead of useful necessity.

As I suggested (with others even before me) earlier, there's no reason to have a "Encode" and inactive "Rebuild" button (except for cosmetical reasons).

Why not change it to active "Encode" and active "Encode & Rebuild"? If the user hits just "encode", this last "e+r" button could change to rebuild - no functions lost.

But all discussions are useless if jdobbs doesn't like the idea.

Thanks for reading, Nan

Is this option only available in the PRO version? I don't see it in the 0.83 free version.

Yes... only PRO.

I like the procedure now because it forces you to save the project after prepare phase which is always a good idea. Have you ever attempted to run rebuilder the way Rockas suggested? If you do it once, you will see that indeed it is very simple.

After you save the project, do you have to quit RB then restart the project in batch with skip prepare then run? Never used batch precess before.

No, there's no need to quit. Simply save the project after prepare phase -> check "skip prepare phase in batch" in Rb under the "file" tab -> check "batch processing" under the "file" tab-> press "add" in the batch window and load the project you just saved -> hit "start" and you are done.

I'll add a two-click mode to the next version.

It might be a good idea if you are using batch mode. I don't know - I've never used batch mode. Nor do I have any particular desire to start using it in order to be able to have the Rebuild automatically follow the Encode.

Note that most of my Rebuilder use has been using a laptop with the DVDs stored on an external hard drive. I start out in OneClick mode, because I don't do any "tweaking" and I just want it to run to the end without any interaction on my part. Sometimes it hasn't completed before I have to pack up the laptop. In these cases, I switch to 3-click mode so it can pick up where it left off. It's annoying that when I do this and let it finish up overnight, it's not really finished - I still have to click Encode after I wake up and let it chug away for 1/2 hour or so more, even though it was doing nothing for the past few hours.

Has this feature beed added yet? I'm running 0.92 Pro but I can't find it anywhere or any reference to it in rebuilder.txt.

I like having the ability to pause/resume encoding in 3-click mode but I don't like having to intervene to rebuild afterwards. A 2-click mode with a "Encode and Rebuild" button would be great!
