finally also mediatek's MT1389 and MT1390 chips will be able to offer mp4 and aac support, i think mediatek was the last big chip producer not offering this
now all it takes is the player manufacturers also enabling that feature on their players :D

Sadly there does not seem to be any mention that either of these chip-sets support high-def content :(
So it looks like Doom9's earlier post (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=92924) has been answered.

there's no info whatsoever about the 1390 so I wouldn't draw any conclusions on that. Mediatek is supposed to eventually release a high def chipset.. just like the competition is (the Vaddis8 was supposed to be shown at CES according to some financial statements I found).

It's difficult to understand the logic of some of these chip-set manufacturers!
You would think if they were creating high-def chip-sets, they would be actively promoting them :confused:
