hi,
i was just wondering, which is the better way for ac3 to aac conversion, going to 96 kbps he-aac, or 128 and above lc -aac , as i have seen he-aac is limited to 96 kbps, more than that, it goes to lc-aac, so which is better?

LC. Real vs. replicated > real wins every time.
HE will be better than LC at the same bitrate, however HE is not useful much above 100 kbps because replication is not needed, the full signal can be stored without replication.

For movie audio Nero HE implementation is not useful either in low bitrates, too crappy compared to Vorbis -q1/-q2.
I wonder why there would be such interest in the forum for HE-AAC, since only with music content it performs like expected.
I'm sure that is not just me, movie sound and sound fx sucks clearly with HE-AAC (Nero).
No? :(
P.S.: Maybe it would expect nice quality/bitrate ratio trying the Apple encoder at 96kbps
