The question is about DVD rip (1400 Megabytes). This is VP6 video and 5.1 AAC audio in Matroska container.
Can I simply cut this rip to 2 .MKV files?
Is this utility to simple cut 5.1 AAC file?

If you mux it into mkv Video and Audio you can use virtualdubmod to split the file into two parts.

Dont think vdubmod will like 5.1 aac to much. Why not use the splitting feature in mkvmerge (http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/downloads.html)
while muxing the file :)

Global Tab -> Enable Splitting -> by Size or by Time via MKVMerge GUI

load the file, enable splitting in the global tab, split by size, max number of files, 2. Easy enough
Damn, get distracted and forget to refresh, end result, double post :D

No, it is not easy, because you get a VEEERY big file if you want just few seconds after like 1h 22min ... so if you did not ATM have the space to do such crap, you are screwed up badly with mkv format w/o usable tools to CUT just a piece of the damn file :(
mkvmerge --split timecodes:01:22:05,01:23:43 F:\"The Changeling.mkv" -o D:\output.mkv
result with:
Error: no output file name was given.
Useless :(

Why are you resurrecting these old threads? And stop the profanity, or you'll get a strike.
