I was using SubCreator to time some hand transcribed subtitles on an old movie. I was about 15 minutes into the film, when I noticed that the audio and video were out of sync. The video I was using was the final .M2V encoded file with the final .AC3 audio muxed together (the original AVI file would not load - don't know why).
I know that WMP can't maintain sync to save its own ass - especially after starting and stopping - and that was the video format I was using. So, my question is what do I time from, audio, or video? I know that both streams have the proper time stamps, because these same files form the heart of my DVDMaestro timeline (and sync is maintained throughout).
Is it okay to just ignore the sync problem and only use the audio as the proper reference?
