i have a conexant bt878a fusion card.

i use my digital satellite receiver for video source and my receiver has a SVIDEO so i used Svideo cable to connect it to my capture card.

i tried 3 different high quality cabel and finally i bought a very expensive high quality svideo cabel but still same problem

when i look with so much attention to the captured video i can see some lines ((just like a jean Trousers)) and most on blue colors

but when i use a composit rca cable the noise are gone
but the picture quality r lower with composit

when i reduce the saturation (with svideo cabel) the noise r gone but the colors become so weired

any suggestion plz ?

If I understand you correctly (difficult without an actual screenshot), you have some kind of interference in the chroma, which only shows up when you cap s-vid but not when capping composite using the same source.

That means hunting for the source of the interference on the one side (cellphones, DECT phones, all sorts of digital equipment etc. etc) or shielding your setup from the other side.

There is a great site about what the various interferences look like over here (https://www.aca.gov.au/radcomm/publications/better_tv_radio/tv_index.html)

For starters:
- make sure the PC case is fully closed
- make sure it is grounded.
- see if the digital receiver can be grounded. Connect a wire between the case of the PC and the case of the receiver if neccesary. This is only usefull if the receiver has a metal casing.

Another option is that the digital receiver simply has a crap s-vid out in which case there is not much you can do. :)
