View Full Version : Problems using video filters in DVD video with MPlayer

I have some of those awful import anime dvds -- if you have never bought them (all the rage on Ebay), they have some nasty blocking, minor ringing, and they are, of course, telecined. So I wanted a player that would let me detelecine/IVTC the video and postprocess it while I watch (I don't want to encode all of them). MPlayer seems to be the pick.
However, when I try to use MPlayer on my DVDs, the video filters don't work at all. They work fine on .avis.
The following is the message I get, along with my command. My guess is that the answer's in the "vdecoder init failed" part, but I'm no codec programmer; I have no clue what that means or how to fix it.

MPlayer -vf detc=dr=2,pp=hb/vb/dr/al -double F:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB
