Hi, I'm seeking information and (hopefully!) a link to this codec. I saw it discussed recently on a pro list. The codec apparently exists in a form that is 'patched' for CCE purposes. I can locate the 'homepage':

www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley-SanJose/2451/

but it is down at present and, despite a concerted effort to google for it, I have been unsuccessful at locating it.

Any help finding it, and/or information on it's characteristics would be much appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. I have searched this board, but couldn't find anything specific enough. The codec may well have been modified for CCE purposes by a japanese programmer, since all the discussions I have Googled appear to be in Japanese.

Cheers for any assistance!

It's on Doom9's software page (http://www.doom9.org/software2.htm#codecs) as "Huffyuv 2.1." :)

Thanks, I did see that the CCE patched version is there, BUT, is it the UVS version, or just the UV version? (I believe at least one of the differences is in it's handling of colourspace).

I guess you will have to wait till the site is up again.

The modified huffyuv itself can also be found here (without source code though):

http://www.geocities.jp/katgum18/jpatch_a-h.html#huffyuvs

readme.txt (machine translation):

Japanese making huffyuvs 0.6 left origin base2.1.1 ccesp patch

It is a patch of making to Japanese of the loss-less compression codec of the animation file.
The improvement is added to Huffyuv2.1.1.1 here.
Because the translation is difficult, the hop improvement part is not made Japanese.
Please overlook ^^;.

I hope even the site below as for the reproof to the mistranslation etc. etc.

Thanks fccHandler and Wilbert for your help. Wilbert, your Googling skills surpassed mine on this occasion - well done on locating that page, it was exactly what I was looking for! Now I only need to find one more thing: the time to put it to the test! ;)

Cheers :)
