Hi. I am running into some trouble setting up my system properly.

Basically, I am trying to play some ogm files. Originally, it worked fine in BSplayer with 99% of the videos I've tried with. However, there was a tiny 1% which would seem to randomly crash. The files matches their sfv, so I don't think its a case of corrupted files.

So I went to another forum, and was told that my Matroska pack was out of date, and to use the EAD filter pack instead.

I did that, and it didn't fix the problem. However, the ogg files would play under Media Player included with the EAD pack... without the subtitles.

Then I uninstalled everything codec/filter related (hopefully it didn't make a mess of my registries), and reinstalled starting from the EAD pack. Well, now ogg files that used to work won't even open under BSplayer, and the no subtitle issue of Media Player is still not fixed. Could anyone suggest what I should download and install to make those problems go away? Media Player seems pretty decent, so I would like to know how to enable subs (within ogg files) with it... And I'd also like my BSplayer to be back to what it was, or better.

Thanks.

Which version of bsplayer are you using, 0.86.xxx for instance?
I had a similar problem when I upgraded to 1.0, so I decided to return to the final version of that line, 0.86.501. I think you'll be able to download it from a p2p like eMule (it remains free).
That version is capable of showing subtitles within ogm files, without any external filter. You only need the following filters: ffdshow (for the video) and oggds0995 (a little old, but it has the best switcher).
I've been using that version due to all of my movies are *.ogm and lately I've begun to add subtitles to them and no problem at all.

Hope it works !
