Hello everyone,

Cineform developed a concept based on a compression of type ondelette (Wavelet) achieved prerecorded or to the flight when the capture is thrown to avoid to meet with the MPEG-2 flux of type Transportation more delicate original Stream to go up. This technical choice permits on a Pentium 3.0 GHzes and without specific hardware to get 4 fluxes manipulables in real time and with effects to the installation. A small démo had been us top at the time of the presentation of First Pro and its continuation. You will find on the site (www.cineform.com) useful the explanations on the method and the working of this Codec qualified by them of "without loss" (lossless).

A question:
Would exist codecs treating the MPEG-2 flux high definition in GOP 6 pictures ?

It is dared maybe to speak of it, but one can always dream.no

Note: sorry for my english

hmm. looks like a competitor to the Blackmagic codec, i guess (though i don't know if Blackmagic has a HD profile).

IMHO 10-bit is possibly not enough for film stuff, but i guess it depends on how dark the movie is.

btw, why is this in the mpeg-2 encoder forum? this has very little to do with mpeg-2...

my eyes! yaaaaaah! :)
