Is it possible to transfer my old Phillips N1702 VCR tapes
to a Pioneer DVR420HS??

If your video recorder / player has video and audio out jacks, sure why not. If it is a real dinosaur and has only an RF output then you need to feed it into something that has video / audio out like another VCR.

Most capture cards these days have tuners. I did a test one day and didn't see any noticeable difference between capturing through the composite and tv tuner input. I don't see why that wouldn't work just fine.

Woah, what sort of tapes does that use? Doesn't look like VHS, whatever it is...
If it's anything like the older VHS VCRs I've seen, it may have composite video out, but only monochrome, and through a BNC connector. God knows why.

Wow... I remember being shown how to operate these (in the mid to late 70's) when I was at school ;)
And who remembers the Grundig and Philips VR20xx range of VCR's, with "flip-over" tape cassettes?

Weren't those "Video 2000" ? I had a friend who had that kind of a VCR, I wonder if he still has it somewhere:eek:
