I'm having trouble with my sisters HTPC. She has a Asus A7NX-VM400 Nforce2 mobo with an Geforce 4MX onboard vidoecard... It only supports overlay video so thats what i've set the computer to use...

The problem is that i get white lines over the picture.. It's just visable for one frame and its a couple of pixels thick, the lenght of the line does not cover the entire picture.. If i enable Vobsub (Vobsub 2.23) the lines are very frequent, if disabble vobsub they they lines almost disapear. They are much smaller and not as frequent. (so it looks like a video overlay problem?)

The graphiccard uses the ram-memory, so i tried to give the gfx more ram, i've also tried to change the AGP arputure size.. But nothiung seems to help... I've even tried with two diffrent memory sticks.. so its not a faulty memorystick causing it....

DVD's works fine with PowerDVD5,
It looks like its only a problem with xvid's.. I've tried both the latest alpha build and the none alpha build from sourceforge.net

if i disable hardware overlay it also works.. But now the movie lags since the CPU needs to work more..

edit: another strange thing, if use 1024x768 the lines are gone, it looks like the problem only exists in 800x600.... Also if i run 800x600 and 85hz and above i dont get these problems (but her TV will not work in this mode)..

SO its look like its a combination of overlay/vobsub/refreshrate/resolution that cause this problem..

Anyone with any solution?
