I'm sure it's been asked before but I can't find an answer on the forums right now. I started with a 6.8g video ts folder and ended up with 11g. It went from 7 main vob files to 11. Could someone tell me what the cause might be. I'm using DVD RB v.72 with CCE mode, 8 VBR passes. I'll include the log file. The movie is disc 1 of this series- http://imdb.com/title/tt0083505/

Make sure you look at the size of the VIDEO_TS folder only.

The only way you could possibly have more VTSs than you started with you have the "ILUV_Extract=1" flag set in your REBUILDER.INI file. That should never be set. It was put there for my development alone and I wish I'd never mentioned it in a post...

I don't see that flag you mentioned. Here's the ini:

What was your exact backup procedure? Give software versions and all steps you took to backup the disc. Starting with ripping the dvd and ending with you hitting rebuild in DVD Rebuilder.

I tried it again and got the same thing. The disc was ripped with DVD Decrypter v3.5.2. Then right on to DVD RB. Here's the log file:

I can't image how you could get 11GB at 2651Mbs. You'd need over 500 minutes of video. Could you please post the contents of the VIDEO_TS directory?

I think is is interesting that the size of the original DVD when added to the 4.3GB that DVD-RB would create together adds up to 11GB.... you aren't setting the working directory and source directory to the same place are you?

No, directories are not the same (see .ini file above). But now that you mention it, that does look like that is what is happening (source files and output files ending up in the output folder). I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to copy folder contents into this message, but the main video files are VTS_01_1.VOB through VTS_01_7.VOB in the original folder. When I check the output, I end up with 1-11.

Open a command prompt window and enter a 'dir' command:
dir "F:\DVDRB COMPLETE\VIDEO_TS"

Then use cut-and-paste. You might also do the same for the source directory:
dir D:\DVDR\YOESE-NTSC-1OF3

CCE250=C:\Program Files\Cinema Craft Encoder SP v2.67.00.27\cctsp.exe
This path should be for cce sp 2.50. For your version you should be using "CCENEW=" (see in Setup "Path to CCE SP (new)")

Also, in the Options \CCE Options select "CCE SP"

Whoah! I missed that and should have thought of it earlier. That is very probably the source of this problem. CCE has changed the ECL format several times and the method for selecting Constant Bitrate, Variable Bitrate, or Q based Variable Bitrate encoding has also changed. If you refrence the wrong encoder and the ECL doesn't make sense, more often than not your output will be created at 6000Kbs constant bitrate... and oversize by a lot.

Good catch pg55555!

Thanks guys, that seems to have done the trick. I've finally got a usable output folder. I should have figured that out on my own (meaning I pointed the CCE path to a mis-matched version number; "CCE SP New" does make more sense). This was a first effort for me, I'm sure things will go easier the more I use it. Thanks for a great program jdobbs, and also thanks to Doom9 for a great forum!

I gotta' agree with you there. I've been hanging around DOOM9 for a long time -- and this is without a doubt the place to be if you want the latest in video and audio processing.
