Is there any software to get meta data for DVDs (ie cover art, catagory, year, actors, producer, ect...)
Is there a way to save it?
Im ripping my DVDs to set up a central server to stream my DVDs and would like to add meta data to them with as little pain (or work) on my part as possible.

Microsoft's MPXP will provide DVD metadata. (If they still offer that service.) But you will have to watch your DVDs using MediaPlayer and need the original disc in the drive.
But read this article about MPXP first.

There are no other movie databases comparable to the CDDB. There has been a standalone dvd jukebox (Sony?) that was a demo at a product show a few years back. I saw it on TechTV. Not sure if it ever made it to market. It had a network connection so it could retrieve the data from the net.

I have seen a few programs that will get meta data off amazon and the IMDB, but I have no way of associating the meta data with the rips. I dont want to have the disc in the drive as the whole point is to set up a streaming dvd server

Bump, still looking for a way to add metadata to a dvd iso or something for streaming dvd images to something like mythtv or xbmc and a way to automate the collection of the meta data

If you a programmer you could write your own dvdloc8.com (http://www.dvdloc8.com) 'grabber'
dvdloc8 is a internet DVD database, (similar to IMDb but for DVDs)
