Okay I very new to this, But I was wondering if it possible to rip a dvd to hd then edit it (sort of like avid cinema or adobe premire) I don't have to use those programs(as they are for dv) But edit the movie then burn it back to dvd to watch(edited) I don't want all extras and stuff just main menu and movie. Possible? If it is please help with what programs I can use. Thanks

Welcome to the forum:

If all you're looking for is the main movie, what you want to do can be as simple as transcoding with DVD Shrink. A lot of us like to rip the disc with DVD Decrypter first, then process with Shrink.

From the forum's homepage, navigate to Guides > DVD/miniDVD > Backup Guides. From there, you'll locate Doom9's Shrink guides along with links for all the necessary software.

Excellent guides can also be found at dvdshrink.info.
