Change or Encode an Avi.

I have an avi., that has "nvop". and my stand alone player, a Philips DVP642 will not play it, nor Qpel or Mpeg movies.I want to convert this file to one I can play, but I am new and don"t know what software to use, or how to use it. Please will someone who knows all this help me?....Thanks

hi and welcome to the forum,

actually you can use GordianKnot to reencode your avi. alternatively you can of course use VirtualDubMod directly to reencode the video.
