I am trying to learn how to use dvdshrink. I have followed the guide to the best of my ability and read all I can find but still have very little understanding of the basics. Here is my problem, I ripped my dvd with dvddecrypter, I can mount it daemon and play it with roxio but when I reauthor it with dvdshrink 3.2, daemon can't mount the new files because there is no mds file. How do I create the mds file when using dvdshrink? Or is there another way I'm supposed to do it? I don't have nero and was planning on using dvddecryptor to burn the new dvd from a virtual one.
Thanks to all who can help,
Chuck

deamon tools can launch a 'naked' iso file too... just switch from 'known file types' to 'all' and select the iso file...

Steve, thanks for the quick help. I followed your advise and discovered that the dvdshrink output contains no iso files, instead it created ifo bup and vob files. I tried to figure out how to change the output of dvdshrink to iso like you can with dvdecryptor but I can't find anyway to do it. My guide doesn't say how either. any advise?

Go grab a tool like ImgTool classic which will make a .iso for you from the VIDEO_TS dir

After creating files with dvdshrink, I have attempted to create iso files with Imagetool classic. If I choose the recommended option to create 1G iso files, it creates 6 such files, but after mounting with daemon, Powerdvd can't play the virtual disk. It goes as far as
asking if I want to start to play at the beginning or at the where it last left off. After choosing either it just says "stop" in the upper rt. of the screen and ends.
If I don't choose the 1g option it creates one big iso but stops at 91% and states that it has encountered an error. Ironically this file plays fine but is missing the end of the show. Any ideas why the 1G files won't play correctly?
Thanks
Chuck

When you click the backup button in Shrink, check the output setup. You can choose to have Shrink build an ISO file there.

are you running a FAT filesystem?? if so you won't be able to create files larger than 4 GB

Yes its a FAT32 system, but I don't know what that means. Can I change that? I'm running Window's XP. Also, I still don't understand why the 1G iso files didn't work with powerdvd. Or was is it possible that Daemon isn't mounting them correctly?
