hi,

I have just batch processed quite a few dvd's, ending with a runtime error 9. I checked the log, all dvd's were ripped fine supposedly.

Is it OK to ignore the error since the dvd's were created normally or could they be damaged? I dont want to waste cpu cycles redoing it all if i dont have to (now under 0.77, as opposed to 0.74 as i didnt have the VIP copy at the time)

or are there enough bug fixes to warrant doing them all again anyway? :|

Also, Is the substream/foreign audio stable to use for all my dvd's? - without worrying that in 6 months when i watch it that i am missing forced subtitles or an audio track?

Thanks~

If it completed normally it is stable. I don't think I'd trust something that had a Runtime 9 error during execution. What version of DVD-RB and what encoder were you using when you received the Runtime 9? Was it during encoding or rebuilding?

If you received the Runtime 9 during rebuilding before (e.g. v0.74) -- and it rebuilds fine under v0.77 you should be fine. That means the error was corrected.

My method is to open RB output in DVD Shrink: it will show you the audio and subtitles stream with their size: If it is zero, it has been ripped off by RB (or were so in the original). It takes only 1 minute and can save problems later.

My complete method is to use Shrink to produce an .ISO file which I burns with Decrypter. It takes a bit longer but I like the reliability of Decrypter burnings, and the possibility of, by deselecting the audio and subtitles I do not want (evem after being stripped by RB) they dissapear from rotatory options you can select with the remote control of your DVD player.

i trust decrypted over nero anyday. these days nero is bloated and just lags all the time.

but the time it takes to convert to iso in shrink (open automatically analyses), it just doesnt pay off.

i burnt the discs and since all of them loaded fine in shrink, i just trust they work. worst case scenario one doesnt work which isnt a big deal by any accounts.
