I like DVD-Rebuilder but it wants the complete DVD to work.
I only want the main movie, the extra's and menu is of no use to me.

Kenman,

Thats how I do it too.
I use DVDShrink and backup the movie only (no compression) in ISO mode.
I then mount it with Alcohol 120%
I then open up DVD-RB and rip it from there.

Works great!

Regards,

I do it almost in this way... except that I backup the movie in file mode. I don't have to use Alcohol. Cheaply ;)

If You have DVD2One You can backup main movie only too and select default subbtitle and audiostream - useful option :)

Try ripping the movie with DVD Decryptor and then use DVD-Fab to strip out just the main movie. Sometimes stripping out the unwanted features will allow the movie to fit on a single DVD-R disc. It also provides you with the option of splitting the movie to two discs and will create an individual IFO fileset for each disc. You should be able to use DVD Rebuilder to shrink the movie to fit on a single disc if you don't want to split it. There's a tutorial on using DVD Fab for stripping out the main movie in the main doom9 website.

Are we forgeting, jdobbs has say it a million time (maybe 30 or so) DVD-RB is a FULL DISC BACKUP.

Now having said that, DVD Shrink in file mode no compression ripping just the main movie and audio you want works all the time for me.

jdobbs has also said he'd consider a main movie only option. I certainly hope so.

The only problems I've had with DVDShrink relate to subtitles. It seems to change the subtitle flags rather than just leave everything as it was on the original.

Ok... but why I can't made full disc backup?? In "Video Title Sets" window (in DVD-RB) there is just VTS_02 - movie and VTS_03 - extra... where is VTS_01 - menu?? Please enlighten me what I do wrong??

Thanks in advance

DVDRB lists only VTS (Video Title Sets) which contains Movies (no Menu's)!
So don't worry!

No DVD RB only shows VTS that are bigger then ~54 MB, if it's less RB will not compress it. DVD-RB doesn't compress the menu's (VTS_0x_0.vob's) "yet". For menu's you could try menushrink.

DVD-RB doesn't show menus because it doesn't reencode them (you can use NuMenu4U from the Sticky on the front page, get it here - http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=89743 )and only the VTS that are bigger then 50mb
