People are starting to provide me with translation of official AutoGK tutorial (from here: http://www.autogk.me.uk/modules.php?name=Tutorial ) So I'm planning to publish them on the website. If you want to do a translation please PM me and I'll send you pure html version to work with instead of PHP-generated page from the website.

Current translations in progress (updated as soon as I receive PMs):
- Greek <up to date>
- Russian <up to date>
- Polish <not up to date>
- French <not up to date>
- Italian <up to date>
- Portuguese <up to date>

so as spanish is being done, I could try french, but it would definately be much better translated by any french user (we all know there are many). Plus, I cant do the job at the momento and dont know if it will be sooner. Anyway I will try in the future if no french native speaker points out.

@len0x, could you remove me as translator for GK (dutch). I don't have the time/energy to keep the translation up to date.

len0x

Sure, I'm thinking about removing a list of translators anyway, coz only a few are getting updated regulary.

If there's no rush, I'll do french, as it seems there are no other native takers, and somebody's got to do it :)

If any other German-Translator is willing to help, I would be pleased to share the work, because I just realized that it is a lot to translate.

Thanks! Its up on the website.

P.S. Try not to use M$ WORD to edit html files though - it puts lots of junk into it - I had to clean it up :)

niamh

I thought I did clean it up (there's some sort of filter, supposed to do just that; obviously not). If you point me to another app to do it, I'll gladly add more junk to my pc, the more the merrier after all :)

notepad has all you need.

EDIT: In the effort of making my well-known-to-be-short-answers less short, i can point you to this URL where you can find a lot of free text editors: http://www.devzoo.com//index.php?tooltype=WindowsEditor

Several versions never did show up so I removed them from the first post (swedish, german, spanish). If remaning translators are still around I have an updated version of tutorial (not much changes, mainly removal of stuff) please contact me if you want to update it.

Does anyone french-speaking want to update the tutorial? (Just a few new paragraphs and some sections removed mainly).

i have translated 85% of the guide to my native language but i read something about UTF-8 the file, what is that?

Im using frontpage to translate the guide, should i do it in adifferent way?

thanks

len0x

Utf-8 is character set encoding. As several guides were provided not in that character set I had to find converter, which I did, so now I can accept any encoding.

I could make danish translations.
Before I start, I would like to know if you have an idea of how many danish users there are. If there are 10 users, or something like that, then it would be a waste of time.
So, how many danish users are there?

len0x
17th December 2005, 00:29
Well considering how many ppl actually using AutoGK in total (at least over a million) I'd say its pretty safe bet that there are more than 10 danish users :) (not necessary on the forum, but majority of the users don't even have accounts here).

Then I will see what I can come up with.
