Problem: Whenever I do an encode using a non-square pixel aspect ratio, the aspect ratio setting in the directshow decoder has to be reset to get it back to auto.
From what I understand, xvid's vfw frontend uses the "aspect_ratio" registry key to store the pixel aspect ratio setting. The directshow decoder reads the same registry key for it's aspect ratio setting. Wouldn't it be better to use a different registry key for the decoder, so it isn't always getting changed from auto to something else?
