28 days is the time gap between the viloent monkey attack and when the black chick talks to the chicken

i thought it was matrix to make all the actors look like zombies. :D

seriously though, gavo you have to give more information than that.

I believe he refers to the movie "28 days later" and wants to know how to find out what quantisation matrix was used for MPEG encoding.

there's apps out there that will give you the matrix used on any mpeg-2 stream. try one of these.

i'm not sure if gSpot does it or not.

Use ReStream to extract the quantisation matrix from the mpeg-2 stream.

It's a custom preset quantization matrix included with.. ahem.. certain versions of CCE. Or so I've heard.

No idea what it's for, though.

It's also included in LigH's package of matrices. Never have used it so far:

Looks like being designed for very high-bitrate encoding of anamorphic streams. The high frequency values seem to cancel out some noise.

No idea if it's any good or not.

LOL no one answered the question.
hmm maybe if you clearly state exactly what you want to know it would be.

if you want to know what it looks like and what purpose it may best be for then Didée already answered that.

if you want to know what matrix was used encoding the movie then Mug Funky already told you how to find out for yourself.

so stop trying to be clever and ask what you mean if they are not it.

They should merge this thread into this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=90532)

There's too many good people taken for a ride here. :(
