Great news!:D
So you are planning to allow every mediaplayer to play full compliant .divx files..
GOOD!

Aperently KiSS players in their lates firmware was able to play new .divx files !
According to report here :
http://www.mpeg-playcenter.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=27595#27595
You may be really surprised but support for this container is already done in KiSS players. I've downloaded media format samples (there are 2 - LastManStanding.divx and PhotoSlideshow.divx). And guess what - LastManStanding.divx plays fine on DP-500 with FW 2.8.8 and on DP-1500 with FW 2.9.1!
To be precise:
1. File plays
2. Multiple audio tracks are supported (AUDIO button on remote)
2. Multiple subtitles are supported (SUBPIC button on remote)
3. Menu is unsupported.
4. After playing whole content (48 seconds) few seconds are repated.
The same results on both FWs.
On the other hand PhotoSlideshow.divx doesn't start at all. But anyway nice work as for new container officially unsupported.

well wasnt it the expected behaviour that current standalone support exactly what you wrote:
- multiple audio, as the audio streams are stored the same way as in .avi, which most players already support
- subtitles and the .divx extension for .avi should be supported on most players since the beginning as dxn representatives told
so what we are waiting for is menu support!
that the files are playing as described doesnt surprise at all imho :)

Well partly you are right , but I am surprised (positively) of multiply subtitle support ...
I wander how it treat different languages ...

Behavior of current standalones with the new format has already been discussed, in great detail, in http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=88988
