I've seen the new GK now can open xvid avi files. That's a good thing but since that change, there's other types of avi that I can't open anymore.
I'm doing analogic acquisition then I use GK to convert my files:
video: pic video mjpeg
audio: wav
size: sometimes more than 20Gb --> that's probably were the problem is located
With the 33.1 version, everything works fine. But since 0.34.5, GK simply crash without any warning.

I have no problem opening MJPEG files. Can you try smaller sizes (of the same source) just to be sure that that's indeed the problem?

I tried but it does not work.
Here's a sample file (http://users.teledisnet.be/web/pva20245/tmp2.avi) if you want to try.

I have no problem opening it here.
*Edit* make sure you have appropriate decoder used (this can be checked via GSpot 2.52, not MS playback). On my system it is: quartz.dll (MJPEG Decompressor).

Same for me, but I don't know how it could work in 0.33 without decompressor.

Are you saying that the sample above (3 frame as far as i can see in 127Kb) causes latest GK just vanish?
What's your OS?

That is weird. I bet something else is decoding your mjpeg...

I tried to deinstall PicVideo mjpeg to use the default mjpeg decoder of windows. Now it just show me an error message like "this is not a valid d2v or avi project". I also tried the 3.0 version of that codec (i was using the 2.10) but it does the same thing than with the 2.10(so it crashes without warning).
Me too, I think it's strange, what exactly did you changed in the opening of avi files?

All I did is set compression type to RGB (from whatever is used) before requesting a frame from AVI file. Previously I was unable to open any mjpeg files I had, so its a mystery to me how its reversed in your case. (I'm unable to fix this without having a debug run on a faulty configuration).

I'm not 100% sure, but I think my mjpeg decompressor already decompress to RGB. Maybe the system you used to convert to rgb don't prevent this possibility? Is there a way to obtain the exact output type of my video (maybe using avisynth, I didn't finded plugins that simply show the format of the video)?
