Hello,
I have had some trouble with the subtitles in the Godfather. When I look in AutoGK, there appear 3 english subtitles. Cause I donīt know which one is the one I want, I run a preview, but there are no subtitles at all, and even the VobSub is not loaded. If I compress the movie, still there are no subtitles. It is happening to me with the last and an older version of AutoGK (that worked well with other movies). What can I do?
Best regards,

dont tick the forced subs in the advanced options (may it be it) nor the external subs
usually they are widescreen / nonwidescreen / deaf-adapted subtitles. encoding the first two ones make no diference in they are burnt-in with autogk (in my own rips, dont know if its general rule).
just try one and see results. not seeing them in the preview doesnt say anything (may be any other small problem with config or something)

Preview should always work though...

But it means that I canīt use the external ones? How could I use them?

dont sure I got you.
simple use is to OCR them: you get a SRT file usable but most media players and good dvd-players

What is the procedure to burn force subs into the file?
I have tried The Passion of Christ and want the subs to be there for obvious reasons. I would rather not have them in a seperate file. Can anybody give me some direction?

Hi,
Run through exactly same problem for same movie; my solution was not to use any subs options (no forces, no align) just select the sublangage you want (mine was wide letterbox french), use preview if you want and encode. For info I used 896 Mb (1/5 dvd) 128 mp3 VBR and got 624*xxx with softmatrix. :)

Len0x: I tried to encode the Godfather 1 with the external subtitles, even after the preview didnīt show them, but they donīt appear on the movie. I thought it was a problem with AutoGK, but encoded Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom perfectly, with two audio channels and two subtitle packages. But when I was encoding the Godfather 1, a message from VobSub appeared on the screen: Usage: rundll32 vobsub.dll, Cutter <src><dst><countfromstart>.. etc, it appeared twice, when the program was splitting the big file. But even in the big file the subs donīt appear...
