I got out to a new forum, registered, and then lost the place where I was and can't find it. It was at that forum that I found a new download called DVD43_free that was supposed to aid in decripting the Arcoss encryption. It was partially effective. I tried it on "Sharks Tale" and before it was on, my computer couldn't even see any files on the DVD drive. After loading DVD43 it allowed DVD Shrink to start but would only see 93% and then shut down. I got a message "Acces Violation at address 00463067 in module DVD43_tray.exe Read of address 00000004" I'd like to find the guy who wrote this program and see what he thinks or maybe you guys have an idea. I'm running HP AMD 3200 on a NEC disk burner.

toolmanx,
hopefully this thread will point you in the right direction:

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the site you gave me was the site where I downloaded the file from. I could get back to there. (I remembered that site name). That didn't help.
Somehow, the first time I went looking for the program, I got to another DVD chat room on the way to that site. That chat room sounded like it was run by the guy that wrote DVD43. I registered there and then forgot the name of the place and can't get back. I need to give the program writer that error message and see if he can advise me as to what to do.

are you sure sharks tale is even protected by arccos ? because other such protected dvds show files fine, its only when ripping there is a problem with some.
i assume you have played it already in your standalone dvd player and had no problems ? if yes then i suggest trying the dvd on a different dvd drive first to make sure its not your reader thats not having a problem.

Yes it plays fine on my player. There is a built in HTML file on the disk that loads and plays as soon as you put the disk in my NEC drive. That is as far as it gets. If I try to explore the disk, my computer tells me there is no disk in the drive.
This all occurs if I don't have DVD43 loaded on my computer. Once DVD43 is activated, I can use DVDShrink to run until it gets to 93% or so and then gives me the error message. All the VOBs show in Shrink.
You are right. I don't know for sure that the protection is Arccos. I have tried Decriptor on other DVDs, not this one, and I get enless CRC error messages. I've reduced to one message, but the errors seem to go on forever. I didn't even try Decryptor on this one.

There is no ARccOS on the Region 2 version of Shark Tale. Not sure which region you've got though.
