Well, I suppose whatever program represents the 3% failure rate mentioned in the article will become very popular once this rolls out, and of course we all have faith in Lightning UK ;)

I don't see there's much they can do that would still work with standard DVD players. These are data files, they have to be readable... period. There's no technique similar to video game copy protection (because there's no possibility of custom loaders).

If I'm missing something, someone let me know.

It doesn't sound like you've kept up on recent protection schemes. ARccOS is based on unreadable files being placed in unreferenced material (which rippers read and stand alones do not). Such a difference is likely to be exploited in their new copy protection. It might even be designed to work assuming removal tactics used on previous Macrovision schemes. Say the modifications used to disable Macrovision RCE incidentally interfere with other navigations.

They've surely thought of something fun.
