I've been getting this error, Run-time error '7' Out of memory, after DVDRB has been running a while transcoding an image.

The machine is a P4@2.8 w/1GB of Ram.. Plenty of hard disk space and a 4gig swap file.. Memory should not be an issue..

I'm using DVDRB 070, AviSynth 255,decodefix110mod, CinemaCraft trail 267 & eclcc 181. Image created with DVDdecrypter 3.5.2.0.

I looked around but have not found any other reference to this error..
Does anybody have any idea why I am getting this??

I've had a few strange errors, one was something about memory. For me the solution was always to reboot, so I haven't seen any of those errors since I made it a routine to reboot before encoding. Can't hurt to mention it, though you've probably tried it already. 1 GB ram here too but swap file is disabled.

good luck

have you noticed at what point you are getting the error, ironjammer? is this while cce is going? when does it occur?

yes, I have rebooted borgraf.. It is usually the first thing I will do when experiancing a problem.. thanks for checking..

Trahald, I'm not sure excatly what stage it is at when it fails.. I know it has written about 1.7g of files when it does..

I will run it again tonight.. I will then grab a screen shot of the stage it is at..

The out of memory error happened in every movie you are processing or just in one? WHAt are the titles, Region and system (NTSC or PAL) of the original DVDs? Have you try updating to RB 0.72?

Have you been successfull with RB before? or these are your first attemps?

Are you letting RB to run alone or are you trying to do something else with the PC at the same time (internet browsing, word procesing, etc)

Try decrypting in Files mode, and run RB on the files instead of the mounted ISO.

If nothing else work, try a clean install of RB and its auxiliary programs: Delete and un-install all programs (RB, Avisynth, Decoder) and then use Rockas installer.

Try running RB in windows Safe mode, so a minimum of drivers and programs are loaded at start up.

If the problem persists, try running with 512 MB instead of 1 GB, if it is still present, try with the other memory (this is to verify your memory is OK (previous problems with overcloked machines have proved RB with CCE is really pushing a machine to its limits, perhaps it does the same with memory)

to answer some of pg55555 questions:
This is the first NTSC movie I have tried on this new machine..

Yes, I am running RB alone..

I did decrypt the movie in file mode.

This was all a clean install..

Info I forgot to mention: This machine is running Windows XP Pro w/sp2 and with all the critical updates. I am also using RB 072

I ran another test last night and I set XP to run RB in Win2000 compatibilty mode. It ran and finished without any problem !!!
w00t !!!

Thanks a lot guys for trying to help.. It is much appreciated!!

Try with QuEnc 0.54 (or 0.57)

There has been reports of problems with .59Beta2, although not related to Out of memory
