Looks sweet...well the interface is quite nice for beginners :)
What is expected quality from this codec ? Is it at least better than XviD ?

hmmm AT LEAST better than Xvid? itīs not easy. Divx is trying to say that but .... itīs not easy since Xvid is the best MPEG4 ASP codec there is no chance to do somethng better

Can you explain me one thing, guys. Why bother releasing codec, which is not even as good as Xvid ? Who will use it ? At last, what are the overall advantages of HDX ?

Cheers

Well, companys only use comercial codecs, so it's a good way to make some money. Right?

Why bother releasing codec, which is not even as good as Xvid ?Why not think that question to the bitter end first? By your logic, a product should only be released if superior to everything else. Think about new foods, cars, electronic equipment, phones, and last but not least codecs for a bit. This year's Toyota Corolla is not better than an S class Mercedes.. so should Toyota not release it? Or in the codec world: DivX4 was better than DivX3.. so release it. SBC is better than DivX4 so release it. DivX5 is not better than SBC so don't release it. XviD, for a long time, was not better than SBC so don't release it. So, with your logic, you've just killed the probably best MPEG-4 ASP codec.

No problem, these are only screenshots...

To all people here: Please note that this is no official release version!

Diversity. Competition means progres, better products. And remember HDX4 is at almost the first official version. So, in the future we can see a better than anything ASP codec (if the guys at Jomigo are workin' day and night :) )

Oh, come on, I haven't killed anything. It's just my personal opinion and certainly I may be mistaken. :)
You could just say that HDX devs want to earn some money and that's all. I guess, by creating the HDX they didn't contribute too much to the codec world as XviD devs did. Remember AVC too. But still IMHO one
should first release a STUNNING codec and only then make it chargeable
but not to sell the old bicycle as in this case.Sorry
