When I install AviSynth, is it necessary for me to copy files over to the Windows\System folder as well? I see in some thread's that the file is being copied-n-pasted to the /System (or /System32 folder.).

Can someone also please post the version number of the latest stable version as I am having issue's with v2.5.5 and v2.5.6 and would like to ensure that it's me and not the program. Is there also a link for v2.5.4?

Thank you for your assistance.

Cheers

No, not for AviSynth itself (well you need some dlls but those are copied to your system folder during install). You will need some dlls (run time libs) for certain plugins. But, AviSynth itself should work fine.

What issues?

Well, all was working fine with v2.5 but, when I installed v2.5.5, (not sure exactly what AviSynth does) dvd-rb was taking 2-3 min's to do a complete encode. I thought maybe using v2.5.6 would fix this but, to no avail. Issue only started after I installed v2.5.5 (thinking it was better).

Thanks for your help.

PS..I no longer have v2.5 so, thusly another reason why I tried v2.5.5.
