manual adaptive quant-level

i'm new to this forum, so hi @all

i currently encoded hellboy director's cut
at original resolution

xvid 1.1.0 beta 1
1450kbit
custom-matrix hvs-better
hpel,aq,vhq4,vhqb,trellis,ms6,cm,co

the average p-frame quant is ~4
first 10 minutes are hard to compress dark rainy action-scenes
blocks are visible but not annoying
the rest looks pleasing on tv
thanks to the developers for such a great peace of software

i noticed that adaptive quantization kicks at quant >= 5
the results are ok to my eyes but i would like to use
aq at lower quants too.

Use a custom quant matrix as a workaround.
Look at the stats window and choose one that ensure an average quant >= 5.
