I tried to convert 6 wav files to AC3 5.1.

It works well with besweet. But it doesn't work at all with Softencode.

I am able to load the 6 wav files (Softencode read the files correctly). But when I launch the encoding, softencode produce a *.ac3 of 88Mo (the file is 55min long, 5.1, 448kbps).

And the file is not readable like the others. But softencode is able to open it.... And it report 27min long...

I just wanted to compare between BeSweet and Softencode. Someone know what's happend ?

I have similar problem with using Soft Encode, if anyone can shed any light on it or perhaps point me to a tutorial. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found why it didn't worked for me:
I've opened the WAVs files in Sony Sound Forge 7. And SF7 created *.sfk file (sort of index file I think).

And Soft Encode produce *.sfk too. But both *.sfk are NOT identical. And if Soft Encode sees the *.sfk created by SF7, it try to use it instead of creating a new one.

So if I open my WAV file in SF7, i have to delete (or rename) the *.sfk created. So soft encode create a new/correct *.sfk.

Maybe it could help you
