I too get the same message when trying to convert The Big Lebowski, i read all the other postings on this and tried to merge the proxyoff.regand still i get

EXEPTION Open avi failed

i must admit i sat and tried to figure this out for about two weeks and then finally gave up, i dont have the technical knowledge you pros do. Help would be appreciated.

Are you able to play *_comptest.avi file from agk_tmp in WMP?

I remember this... It affected Win98 users, like me. It was fixed with the next beta after 1.6. Autogk is up to 1.89 now, Try the new beta and it will work. Take a look through some of the older posts on this thread and you will find people who had the same problem.

k ill try to dl the beta tonight, im sorry this took so long to reply to again lenox, but i cant find that file in wmp, and i dont have an agk temp folder i will continue the hunt to see if it will play. Thanks for the quick response.
