Hello,
after the codec test in 2004 i have found the hdx4 codec in a german software videojack.
After installing the codec with the xivd.bat, the codec was available at all windows / vdub apps.
So i start capturing and converting videos.
In my opinion a nice quality was available with the codec :
Quality in capture mode is very imressive at 720x576 an mp3 with a cpu at nearly 70% ( 2,6 P4 )
Normal conversations are very fast, much more faster than Divx.
The codec is very easy to install and very easy to handle.
In the codec there are nearly the same features as in divx :
Crop/ deinterlace / keyframes / single / multipass / psychenh./ ....
Last :
I couldn´t recomend a place where you can get the codec without the realy bad software.
cons : Codec has no cons but the SAD Software is so ugly that it is not possible to use all feat. from the codec.

Hi,
bad / sad software means no p2p or piracy software !!!!!
I mean the software videojack is very buggy.
The codec is very nicehttp://forum.doom9.org/newreply.php?s=&action=newreply&threadid=89479#

I think you should wait to the relaese, sometimes the SAD company relases some trials, so it would be possilbel to get the codec.
I think the codec is worty to keep an eye on it.

What is the "xivd.bat" for a file? Where did you get it?
Normally the installation of HDX4 doesn't need any 3rd party file...
Best regards,
Daniel

The German based company "S.A.D." has released a product called VideoJack using a version of HDX4. They have nothing to do with the codec itsself.
There are also already other products in the market using HDX4...
