DVD Workshop blues

Hi there, I've done a few forum searches and can't seem to unearth what I am looking for, so apologies if this has been covered in the past. I author using DVD SP 3, but a friend of mine is persevering with Ulead's DVD Workshop and getting mightily annoyed at the apparent inability of the GUI to disable integrated MPEG encoding, courtesy of the MainConcept encoding plugin. I've taken a quick look at the demo, myself, and even creating one's own template, their is no apparent option to deselect the integrated encoder. I am given to understand that it sometimes works to set all MPEG encoding settings to 'max', in which case, I am told, DVD Workshop often chooses to 'skip' the integrated (re)encoding of the imported MPEG assets, but this sounds very hit-&-miss to me.


SO...my question is:

Does anyone know of a DECENT workaround to disable encoding of imported assets by the integrated encoder when the imported assets are already encoded to Spec-compliant MPEG streams prior to importing them into DVD Workshop?
