View Full Version : Cutting DVB subtitles to match cut ES

I record UK DVB-T directly using a Nebula Electronics card. I parse the recorded PVA streams into audio, video and subtitle files using Project X. I then cut these files using MPEG2Schnitt (or Cuttermaran) to remove unwanted material before and after the programs and in the ad breaks.

What I am now wondering is how I can cut the subs, extracted to either SRT or SSA format, to match the cut video/audio?

Any help welcome please.

I've had the same problem, but I don't know of a program that makes this job easy.

But if you doubleclick on your original file in ProjectX before demuxing it, a new window will open (at least it does with .TS-files). There you're able to select which part of the movie to demux. Select all parts that you want to keep, just like you would have done in Mpeg2Schnitt, but ProjectX will cut the subtitle file too. Maybe it's a bit inaccurate, but it will save you some time..

Good news, but alas ProjectX wil only produce .SUP or .SON files from my DVB subtitles :-(
