I'm running into the typical protection problems discussed here earlier with catwoman/little black book/RE2, when I back up my movies I only do the main movie anyway, so for the first time i'm using DVD Decrypter to do the ripping and have it set to rip the main movie+ifo, then when I go to DVD Shrink and select open files, navigate to the directory... it won't open, says system can't find the file specified? Must I rip the *ENTIRE* disc to do it this way?

Also, I have nero 6.6.0.0 installed and I see a lot of people using decrypter to burn, should I be doing that?

NEC 3500AG liggy/dee 2.18 V2 B6
AOpen 1648/AAP PRO 1.01
NF2 / XP PRO SP2
newest versions of all apps

thanks

I could open it with DVDshrink when I chose to get all of the files on the disc, however it adds a lot of time doing it this way not to mention ripping on the fly through dvd shrink eliminates the first step, what is the best/fastest method from original to main movie single layer dvdr?

Rip the DVD to disk with DVD Decrypter in file mode, All Files (DVD Shrink needs a full disk to work on). Then open in shrink in File Mode (Ctrl-O). Make sure you are using the latest versions (DVD Decrypter 3.5.2.0 and DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15)

This is by far the best way to backup a disk - especially with the new arCCos copy protection that DVD Shrink can't handle.

I always burn with DVD Decrypter, but via PgcEdit - see here (http://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?link=735) for how and why.

Good luck

dvdshrink won't be updated to support it? Development has ceased. I've heard that the author, dvdshrink, works for Nero now.

that sucks, hopefully he releases the source so someone can pick up the project? That subject has been brought alot in the the past and just as he was adamant on not taking donations, he stands on his decision for not out-sourcing.
