Could someone explain to me, or point me toward an explanation of, the Stream menu now in DGIndex (PIDs, etc.). It's Greek to me. Is it important?

It is only for transport streams. If you are using DGMPGDec for vobs (DVDs) then you don't need to worry about it.

Excellent. Thanks.
(I don't suppose "what is a transport stream?" would be a silly question here?) :rolleyes:

DVD -> Program Stream
HDTV -> Transport Stream
Every Transport Stream can contain multiple Program Streams. The Stream menu, lets you choose the Program Stream, and then everything works normally from there.
I believe this is correct, but I am not a TS guru.

Cyberia is almost correct. A transport stream is not a multiplex of program streams; it is a multiplex of ES/PES streams. But that is a fine point. He is spot on in saying that a transport stream contains multiple "programs" and you select the one you want with the PID.
I should gray out the Stream pulldown unless a transport stream is loaded. Thank you for pointing it out, absinthe.

Say, is there any particular reason there's no longer an "autoincrement open" on the file menu? I suppose the author considered it inferior to the new method of multiple selection and automatic sorting.
EDIT BY NEURON2: Oops. Accidentally edited your post instead of replying. Silly me. Oh well, that's the answer. :)
