I'd search for an answer but I don't even know what search terms to use. I have a disc with a corrupted vob so I can't use DVDShrink (my usual tool for chopping VOBs) on it. What app can take VOBs and generate the appropriate IFOs, BUPs, or whatever DVDShrink needs?

edit: I read online how DVD Decrypter 2.5.2 substitutes dummy files for corrupted files on a DVD but it ain't doin' that for me. I don't see anything in options.

Actually I think I know how to do this: just extract what I can from the DVD, import the VOBs into DVD-Lab, compile as a movie, then use DVD Shrink to chop that.

I guess this is Resident Evil or Shaun or The Forgotton etc.

DVD Decrypter 3.5.2.0 can rip them just fine.

If you have VOBs but no IFOs, use IfoEdit's Create IFOs function. See this (http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/createifo094.html). Don't forget to recreate your languages after doing the Create IFOs.

Good luck

No, it's a series disc with a corrupted episode, so DVDShrink wouldn't eat it. I just wanted to salvage what I could. The method I came up with above worked.

Thanks for the tip about IfoEdit, I like having multiple ways to solve problems.
