I have installed the newest version of ffdshow (ffdshow-20050122).

Now I have the problem that ffdshow always decodes MPEG1/2 files I play in Media Player Classic - but I didn't check MPEG1/2 when installing ffdshow (It is also disabled in ffdshow configuration)

The problem is that playing (S)VCDs with ffdshow results in wrong aspect ratio.

I found out that ffdshow wants to play my MPEGs only if
"Raw video" is enabled in ffdshow codec configuration. (set to "All supported" by default)

If I disable that all is fine again.

What is "Raw video" for / what won't work anymore when it's disabled?

Ok, the raw video option will enable ffdshow as a postprocessor for EVERY codec (useful if you want - for example - deblock or add noise ... to any source even if it is not supported by ffshow).
To fix the aspect ratio thing you should check the "Allow output format change during playback" option (In the "Output" tab).

The option "Allow output format change during playback" has no effect here but now that I know that I don't need "Raw playback" to be enabled I have sinply disabled it.
