Hi. I want to join two audiofiles but it seem impossible. Started in VDub with joining two avi's containing the audio but ended up with the second half of the film all mute. Also did try in Nandub which crashes instantly, in Soundforge, in Cool Edit , in Cubase. Nothing works. No matter how i convert the audio, to .mp3 or .WAV,PCM or mp3 VBR-format before trying to process. How do i solve this?
Thx

your sources are in the same format (f.e. both 16bit/44.1KHz MP3/PCM-WAV)? :rolleyes:

Yes indeed:=)! Both Audiofiles are 48000hz, 127kbps, MPEG-Layer 3, 2 channels. Still doesn't work, grrrr..

what happens if you convert both files to 16bit 48KHz PCM WAV

They get HUGHE:=) Approximatly 5.41 GB together. And therefore it seems that no program can handle to mux them.

you can compress them again afterwards

and VirtualDub should able to mux it.

if both avi plays correctly (i mean synch issues here) and both part of mp3 have identical characteristics, avimuxgui will (should:-) join them perfectly. if anything wrong w/the parts amg will join them, but no guarantee for the result :-)

Well first of all, thanx all you guys for your replies. However, the issue is that i don't have a program that allow muxing/saving of a wavfile that is over 5gb. Virtualdub/Nandub(crashes instantly)VDubMod wont take it, Soundforge wont take it, CoolEdit wont take it, and not Cubase either:(

LOL. Yes that's what i have:=) Also found out(via avimuxgui) that one of the AVIs contains a mpeg1-layer 3 CBR 128kbs, bad 58.
The other one a mpeg1-Layer 3 VBR bad 58. please....wtf is this???
How can the sound be different and Why??? Thats why i cant join them without loosing the audio stream at 2:27.14 into the movie. --"How difficult can it be?"--

try :
- playing w/avimuxgui. it has many options for correcting vbr audio. maybe, one of them helps. on amg site u'd find detailed explanations for the options
- correcting both audio stream in vdub and join them afterwards

in this form u'll never join them into a single avi. but is it really needed ? any player can play them wout any problem after each other (say, from a playlist or so)
