I have a WMV which apparently was saved from a stream, so i cannot browse it, neither in WMP nor any other player. That's a PITA because it's 48 Minutes long and the interesting part is around 40 minutes.

Is it possible to mux the audio/video directly into another container without recompressing? Or is there a way to (re)build the index for the WMV?

Nevermind it appears the download was corrupt and only about half the file did download. Anyway for future reference i also found a tool to reindex WMVs: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/encoder/default.aspx

Well even complete streams with the live flag set will be unseekable even from the HD. ASFtools will re-index, set the files to be seekable and remove alot of general WMenc garbage from the files.
