Hiya

been following threads here with quite some interest in "re-working" menus.

This lead me to download Numenu4u. My question is, can i re-encode a menu for use without using the big 3 methods? ie can i re-encode a menu for use with Rebuilder since i have now 4 straight sucessful encodes with that app. RB is working for me well now and i am working out a workflow that is getting great results.

Now i would like to go a bit further and try working on menus a bit more.

I dont see any specific info around for NuMenu4u. certainly not much other then changelogs on the web site. I have read through the instructions on the big three but it doesn't really get very specific about NuMenu4u.

Any info would be appreciated.

regards

NuMenu4u is a standalone app, that can be used on its own. Basic principle is to load the iso (must be an iso), set the encoding preferences and audio preferences. Scenarist will be used for the actual authoring. Under default settings set the options that are best for you - turn off run DIF4U. On completion you will have a VIDEO_TS folder containing all the menu files (ie *_0.VOB) and all the IFO/BUP files. If using RB afterwards then copy the remaining files into this folder (ie the *_1.VOB etc) and run.

HiYa

Thanks very much Mr Zeul. I will give it a crack and see how menus look knocked down a bit in size.

You say ISo only. I have ripped in decryptor to files in file mode. which app is good to convert these to ISO in your opinion ?

arrhhh : dont worry :IMGTOOL

As far as i can see NuMenu is for changing the size only of the menus . Is this correct ?

Thankyou for the app and thanks for your time to answer my query.

NuMenu was designed to reduce the menu sizes, remove unwanted language streams and remove unreferenced vobs (known as dummies - often in the VIDEO_TS.VOB). However, once imported into scenarist there is no reason why some bits can be removed/added - if you know what you are doing :D . Just remember the run the menu.update.bat file, which will amalgamate the new menu info and the original title info into a useable ifo.
