Just wish to pass on some of my experiences with using Shrinkdvd, DVD43, Dvd Decrypter and Nero V6.0.
I loaded all of the above softare on my Compaq XP system. Burned 3 DVD without a hitch and then things started to happen. System hangups, programs freezing in mid copy. Not enought memory errors when writing to my 2 HD's. Some of the freeze ups could only be solved by shutting power off without closing Windows. It seemed that my system was trashed and slowed down to a crawl. I uninstalled all software, reloaded it from start again. Still it would seem to work untill the sytem would lock up.
I shut off the computer, had a beer and quit for the night. Looking on this forum and some others I didnt see anyone experiencing these problems. I loaded the all software except Dvd43 and only the main Nero Express burn program. I also took caution on my procedures to load and copy files. After a full night of sucessful copying (9 DVD's) without a hitch, I would like to point out some issues that I think brought my problems to head.
1. After Dycrypting files to HD, I minimized the program, launched Dvdshrink, copied the new files to a different directory on my hard drive (default is the same directory).
2. After the shrunk files were on my HD I went back to Dycript and closed imiage files and removed the files from my HD.
3. Launched Nero and opened files and burned to new DVD disk.
4. After burning the files I again removed and closed all open files in the DVDshrink.
I think that I expected the programs to close the files and it appeard to me that some of the files may not be able to be used because they were being used in another program. This I think was causing my system to hang and programs to not respond.
Just my $.02 worth.
